The first chart is a six hour capture from 0030 to 0630 UTC, 11.8.1998. A normal trace would be a straight line with scattered pulse bursts. This one indicates one of the strongest storms we have experienced to date. Note the radiation bursts shown on the second chart. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some power outages during this time period.
