Subj: Kent read this...[Fwd: [CAUS updates] - EQ Pegasi Interstellar Probe--Update 11-7-98] Date: 98-11-08 17:35:51 EST From: zodiac1@bellsouth.net (Joseph DiVito) Reply-to: zodiac1@bellsouth.net To: phikent@aol.com Dear CAUS Subscribers: Today's CAUS Commentary--'First Contact or Orson Wells Revisted' discusses evidence of an interstelllar probe landing somewhere north of Phoenix on December 7th. If we are to be responsible human beings, we should investigate all evidence, no matter what our personal beliefs about its nature and its reliability. Unless and until there is evidence that we are not receiving a signal from an interstellar probe or that it will not impact this planet, we must investigate and analyze all relevant evidence. With this in mind, CAUS brings you the first in its series of periodic updates on 'EQ Pegasi Interstellar Probe.' Pat sends us: On September 17, 1998, SETI's Seth Shostak stated the following: (The signal was coming from the vicinity of EQ Pegasi and the Project's name was Phoenix.) "This time, the signal did go away, an unusual occurrence. The Phoenix software, oblivious and unemotional, reacted accordingly and it scheduled a "confirmation on." The telescope beam was slued back in the direction of 4079, checking to see if the suspicious radio tone would come back. By now, the silent drama unfolding on the computer screens had my full attention. The center display was slowly being painted with a sea of radio noise. Immediately, a faint, narrow line became conspicuous, wending its way across the graphic, and drifting determinedly to higher frequencies. This is precisely the sort of signal we expect from the extraterrestrials." http://www.seti-inst.edu/phoenix/ao-news.html Pat also asks us to consider the following: Note "Rotational modulation" @ARTICLE{1987A&A...181...96H, author = "{Haisch}, B. M. and {Butler}, C. J. and {Doyle}, J. G. and {Rodono}, M.", title = "Rotational modulation and flares on RS CVn and BY Dra- type stars. V - Exosat and IUE observations of a flare on EQ Pegasi", journal = "\aap", year = 1987; month = jul; volume = 181; pages = "96--102"; note = "Provided by the NASA Astrophysics Data System" Ignatius sends us two e-mails from the 'real'` Paul Dore: From: pdore@web-computing.demon.co.uk (paul dore) To: ufoseek@aol.com CC: webmaster@aol.com Dear sir's. It is obvious that the web site purporting to contain information sent by myself is complete hoax. In fact I would go so far as to say it is slanderous using my name and crediting findings with my name. I have no knowledge of this fiasco. Could you please remove this slanderous material at once. thank you Paul Dore. ( UK )PS: Presume it was not known by the hoaxers that my web site has not been updated for some 2 1/2 years so is hopelessly out of date." Date: 98-11-07 16:10:39 EST From: pdore@web-computing.demon.co.uk (paul dore) To: Ufoseek@aol.com CC: webmaster@aol.com Thank you for the help. Sorry, for being a bit abrupt the other day, but this whole saga is getting a bit tiresome. I am grateful you have updated your site to point out that I am not the person behind all this. PS: I will be a guest on the Laura Lee show this evening to explain the ridiculousness of this whole story Phyllisim writes: During David Oates first broadcast of his new show he played a cryptic reverse speech statement by the current Secretary of Defense and it mentioned Dec 7 landing and NASA. I can't remember exactly what it was but David will have it. Can you contact him and post to everyone what the exact reversal was? It certainly seems relevant! Gary Val Tenuta synchronistically writes: On Friday, Nov. 6 on Jeff Rense's program (Sightings On The Radio) David Oates said he believes the source of the "Dec.7/Sampson" scenario is the reversals he played a few weeks ago on Jeff's program. Tonight he played those reversals. In one of them the words "December seven" can be heard and the word "Sampson" is in the other one. I don't recall whose voices the reversals were made from. David Oates will guest host Sightings On The Radio on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7pm. Most likely he will elaborate on this at that time. The Friday program mentioned above is probably archived at www.sightings.com. Mark Williams writes: I located Jay Oka (the Japanese "confirmation" source) His stuff was at the geocities CapeCanaveral site, etc. I got hold of him and he said that he has no idea who posted the message(s) with his name attached, but it wasn't him. Chris sends us: Another website for information: http://www.digitalfog.com/artbell Lastly, today I sent two e-mails, one to John Doe aka Paul Dore and the other to Paul Dore. I will keep you informed of any response(s). CAUS asks that we all assist in quickly and responsibly attempting to determine whether an interstellar craft, possibly involving a Project Samson, is sending us a signal and more importantly...whether it will land north of Phoenix on December 7, 1998. Remember...though the idea sounds incredible to believe...you never know. And do you have anything more interesting to do in the next month? Just consider it an online 30 day computer game that can achieve 3D reality. Peter A.
