This bill authorizes the federal government to force six months of military training onto every male from age 18 to 22.  The bill's true colors show in the provision that allows the conscripts to complete serving their time by performing community service, just like many convicts do. It doesn't take much imagination to see where we are headed. If government imposed truth in packaging on itself, this bill would be called the "The Universal Involuntary Servitude for Community Service Act of 2001."
