The Palisades seismic data recorded a 2.1 magnitude earthquake during the 10-second collapse of the South Tower at 9:59:04 and a 2.3 quake during the 8-second collapse of the North Tower at 10:28:31. However, the Palisades seismic record shows that—as the collapses began —a huge seismic “spike” marked the moment the greatest energy went into the ground. The strongest jolts were all registered at the beginning of the collapses, well before the falling debris struck the Earth.

The American fleet confidently steamed off to war in the Persian Gulf recently — and promptly got creamed. This was an elaborate war game, not the real thing, but it reminds us that an invasion of Iraq won't necessarily be a cakewalk. Moreover, a general who participated says that the war game was fiddled with in ways that raise questions about whether the government is returning to a Vietnam-style overoptimism and myopia.

Approximately 9:00 p.m. EDST, the Northern Lights arrived in S.E. PA, about 40 miles north of Philadelphia, and lasted for about one hour. Plenty of white, green and even pinkish-red skies with the appearance of diamond dazzle. The green glow over the pine trees was especially nice. Even had a shooting star in the midst of the storm at its highest intensity.

12:57 PM a meteor or something hit in the Oklahoma City area last night! Last night (Saturday 9-8-2002) at around 10:15pm a meteor or something hit in the Oklahoma City area. It lit up the sky & many saw it in our neighborhood. Some said it looked like it had hit somewhere around the Moore area. There was a glow from the thing after it had hit ground that seemed to light up the sky for miles. I´ve looked at the different news updates online & off but have not seen anything about it. Is there anyone else here from Oklahoma who may have seen it too? Why would it light up the sky for a few seconds after it hit & there not be some sign of it landing somewhere? I am very curious about this if anyone else has heard anything on it, I would be happy to hear about it. Thanks in advance!
